Brendan 250“Getinge Online is a great piece of work that helps me keep on top of things. I log in at least once a day to keep everything in check. There’s a lot of information available, but the intuitive layout and navigation make it very easy to find what you are looking for,” Brendan Kelly, Critical Care Scientist at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children in Northern Ireland, says.

This hospital is the only one in Northern Ireland dedicated specifically to the care of children. It offers general hospital care for children living in Belfast and provides most of the pediatric regional specialties for children throughout Northern Ireland.

Presently, the hospital is equipped with Getinge Flow-i anesthesia machines and Servo-i ventilators.

Brendan Kelly explains: “We can already see that Getinge Online is a great solution for promoting uptime of the connected machines. Getting a heads-up when preventive maintenance is approaching, or a warning when something is about to go wrong, help us avoid canceling procedures.”

Easy access to technical logs and previous service reports supports Brendan in managing his own time better.

“I am able to spot trends that could lead to issues, and accessing electronic service reports cuts down on paperwork,” he explains.

Brendan concludes: “The data shown for anaesthetic agent usage could enable the hospital to perform audits and potentially lower agent use, which is better for patients and would also help reduce the hospitals environmental footprint.”

Expanding the scope of Getinge Online

In 2020, the digital platform Getinge Online has taken a major step forward by entering the operating room and intensive care unit. The anesthesia machines in the Flow family became the first acute care products to be added Recently, they were also joined by the Servo-u, Servo-n and Servo–air ventilators.
