Getinge has more than 50 years of technical and clinical experience in vascular graft technology and is today one of the leading manufacturers worldwide within this segment.
“We have seen a growing demand from our customers for our vascular grafts portfolio and in order to meet this demand we will expand our facility area and equipment“, says Jocelyn Lebrun, Managing Director Getinge La Ciotat. “We also estimate that the investment will lead to an increased need for additional personnel, primarily within engineering and manufacturing”.
Today the La Ciotat site employs 270 employees and has 6000 m2 facility area including 2 clean rooms for a total of 900 m2.
“The site produces approximately 230,000 units per year, which is estimated to support saving 500 lives per day”, Jocelyn Lebrun continues. “We expect the facility expansion to be ready and operational within the coming years. In the meantime, we will increase our production by adding shifts to help fulfill customer needs”.
