Since 2017, Getinge has supported The Children’s Heart Foundation and its commitment to advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects (CHDs) – America’s most common birth defect. Pediatric patients and caregivers, healthcare providers, and the general public are encouraged to download the GETwell Bears Fishes for Wishes coloring picture and post the artwork to Instagram with #GETwellbears and #colorforthekidsinsta. The fundraising campaign is seeking 100 colorful pictures to be uploaded from now through the end of the year, and Getinge will donate $5,000 to the Children’s Heart Foundation.
"Through our ongoing commitment to research focused on congenital heart defects, The Children’s Heart Foundation strives to make a lasting impact on the lives of those with CHDs. Our funded research will help bring innovative solutions to improve survival rates and care for all individuals living with CHDs,” said Barbara Newhouse, CEO of The Children’s Heart Foundation.
“We have a passion for life, so we are committed to providing the best possible, quality care to patients globally, including pediatric and neonatal infants and children,” said Eric Honroth, President, North America, Getinge. “The Children’s Heart Foundation’s ongoing commitment to continued CHD research is truly admirable, and we are proud to further support research initiatives in this space.”
Getinge’s portfolio of pediatric cardiac products include the Pediatric OASIS® Dry Suction Water Seal Chest Drain, which is used with infants and pediatric patients to allow blood, fluid or air to drain from the chest cavity so the lungs can fully expand, and the family of SERVO-i®, SERVO-s®, SERVO-u® and SERVO-n® ventilators for pediatric and neonatal patients.
